Talking Hey, that song reminds me of!!!

Ok I have two questions within one for this thread. Do you have Jewel songs that remind you of other things? Songs that have stuff in them that remind you of other stuff like movies or popular culture? and also songs that remind you of times in your life when you hear them?

Here's what I mean by popular culture...

Ok when I listen to the Serve the Ego (Gabriel Dresden Mix) the opening of the track sounds like these sound effects from the beginning of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I can't help but think of that everytime I hear this remix.... I can see the opening credits of the movie w/ the flash bulbs of the camera w/ that strange noise overtop of it. What is that?

Another thing is when I listen to 'Everybody Needs Someone Sometime' thre's a part (about 3:08 into the song) where you can hear men singing EVERYBODY backup overtop of her lead vocals and that part of the song always sounds like Wang Chung's 'Everybody Have Fun Tonight' b/c there's a part in that song where they sing EVERYBODY in the background just like that.... I am wondering if anyone else ever thought of or noticed this?

Times in your life....

As far as songs reminding me of times in my life I always think of 'Standing Still' and when I used to listen to it in the car w/ my friend, at the time I was living with him and his parents and was going to a tech college where he went too and we would drive to school and listen to mixed cd's. Standing Still reminds me of that time period in my life....

I'll have to think more about songs that remind me of other stuff, but until then I want to hear some feedback from everyone else

I know when I listen to Good Day and she says
'Go Back to Bed, Turn Off the TV'
I can't help but lead into 'A Boy Needs a Bike' where she says:
'Put away our tools, go back inside'

I automatically want to say 'Mom feels left out and now she starting to cry' after the 'Go Back to Bed, Turn Off the TV' bit

Am I the only one that sees this coz no-one else has mentioned it before. Am I just being weird?

I'd probably feel the same way if I heard Boy Needs a Bike, but I have yet to hear that song.

Does the melody of Carnivore sound like Deep Water's melody to anyone else? At certain parts I mean?

The song 'Foolish Games' reminds me of this guy I dated in college during the time this song was popular. He didn't want to be attached but still wanted me to be around. It was very confusing....I especially like the line "Well, excuse me, guess I've mistaken you for somebody else, somebody who gave a damn, somebody more like myself"...I was like, YEAH, take that!!! Needless to say, it didn't work out!!

I think it's a joke Gary...lol @ STB.

Gary, I can't believe you haven't heard A Boy Needs a Bike. We'll have to fix that. It's from her MTV Unplugged tracks but she has played if live elsewhere also. I really like the song. It think it's very sweet. Maybe after you listen to it, you'll know what I mean

Actually, I cant choose if my favorite album is 0304 or GAIW.

The 0304 version is much better though.
