Who would you will your assets
This is a follow up to the funeral question... with the recent news on the Helmsley family, I couldn't resist.
My will states that my assets will go to her daughter, and if she has kids (she's only 11 months old), it will go to her kids, and so on. But it also states that part of my assets will go to the Humane Society in my area (my dog, who passed away at almost 15 years old, came from the Humane Society). Who would you will your assets? |

I don't know. I don't even have a will or anything like that yet. I honestly don't think I'll have kids of my own so probably my nephew or sisters.

I can seriously understand that. When my dog was still around (and my daughter wasn't), I wanted to make sure that my dog maintained his lifestyle. There were expectations that he would continue to live well. Our dog was our little baby, after all.

lmao....if the pet pegs it...then where does the will go to then!? Honestly i can understand the love for your pets and all, as my parents have nearly all of there lives had golden retriever's within the household, lovely dogs, i'v always adored them lots...there a part of the family, BUT i dont think that i'd be obsessive enough to grant them a percentage of my will when i cease to be and i'v absolutly NOOOOOOO idea for whom i grant my will too????? YET!!!

My assets are being left to my husband and to my child (when the baby is born of course...not long left!)
I've already had discussions with Peter in case anything goes wrong at the birth or anything like that so we have that all sorted. Fingers crossed, we won't need them. |

Don't have a husband yet and I don't ever plan to have kids, so if I were to die right now I'd will my things to my parents, brother (not my blood brother but a close enough friend that I call him such), sisters, and future nieces seeing as my sisters plan to have kids someday.
That Helmsley story was hilarious- what does a dog do with that kind of money and what does the court make of it? I say fork it over to her grandsons, they deserve it after dealing with her as grandmother.
