Default Pieces of You, the record

OH MY GOD!

I just got my package in the post today! I won on Ebay, "Pieces of YOu" original sealed vinyl. I couldn't wait, my buddy got it at the post office today and he brought it over to me. I was leaned back in my chair, being yuppie JOnesy, not doing anyhing but getting paid for it, and I snapped to when I saw the box. I got up and mauled over about two people to get to him. I carefully opened the package and saw that beautiful blue wing with her face on it. I freaked out. Admittably, everyone thought I was a little weird for buying a Jewel album, especially on vinyl. I told them, "Hey, first off, I'm your boss so I can listen to what I want. Secondly, I'm a Jewel maniac, and these are worth more than the CD's."

Come on, hwo doesn't have Pieces of You on CD, I do, and I have the feeling that everyone else here does, as well. But vinyl, this is beautiful, I feel like I just re-enlisted again! I was thrilled beyond contaiment. I left work for the day and went home, opened up the old record player (which is brand new and I only have three records for, Phil COllins , Johnny Cash, and Vic Damone). THis record the I handled and buffed so gently with the utmost care, played absolutely beauitful and plays just as good, if not better, than my CD. Plus, the extra five tracks are great.

Point is, I'm thrilled, because I love Jewel, and I love records, and I've fulfilled my wish.

Doctor Frank N. Furter put it best when he said, "It will thrill you, chill you, and fulfill you!"

I know I'm rambling (I warned you guys from the beginning), but I'm thrilled.

The only thing I can think of left to say is SWEET! And it's not even my birthday yet!

Three cheers for Jewel, and hopefully a cheer for ole Jonesy and to CURAHEE!

CURAHEE!

That sound pretty cool; I'm happy for you. The POY vinal includes "Angel Needs A Ride", "Everything Breaks", "Cold Song", "Rocker Girl", and "Emily", right? I don't have the Jewel vinyl record, but I was able to get all of those songs on the EPs. (I obtained Phyllis Barnabee Finally Gets A Bra through a seller on amazon for only $10, can you believe it That was before I even knew it was so rare).

Anyway, I never bought records myself; just cassettes and CDs, but my parents own a ton of them. I never learned how to work a record player.

It's just as easy as a CD player, once it is in tune. You should have your friends or parents show you how to operate one, it is worth a thousand memories. You'd love it, with your taste in music, I know you'd love it.

but be careful, though. ALl records are meant to be CAREFULLY handled. and yes, those songs are on the album. you never did mention if you liked Al Green?

I love vinyl. I really just want Spirit on vinyl and I could die happy.

oh and off Jewel topic but I saw Continuum by John Mayer for $15 on vinyl and I was really tempted to get it, another album I would love to have on vinyl..

I didn't pay close enough attention but I think when I looked at the back if I had seen tracks I didn't know of, I would have went "HEY!!". So I am guessing not.... but next time I go to the record store, if it's still there, I'll check again or maybe buy it if my wallet feels heavy
