Dallas TX - August 31, 2006
Fellow Jewel Fans,
Anyone here going to the Dallas concert at Meyerson Symphony Center? I have a seat in Section B, Row CC (3 rows back from the stage) ; wife and sister are in the balcony. I am hoping to get pictures while there, but they may be strict about cameras. We'll see. John H. PS...Little Bird, good job on recovering the website!!! Is there a place where we can help you with donations?? Last edited by redrocks99; 08-27-2006 at 02:09 AM. |

I can't even imagine the crowd's reaction to Jewel singing 'Stephenville, TX' there in Texas!! That's going to be a great show, you'll love it I'm sure!!! (I'm so jealous!) As if you couldn't tell, sorry, I'm not going to that show.........or any show for that matter. I've never seen her perform live.

Hi there Jewel fans. I have been very busy with my job lately, but have found some time late at night to let you know how my Jewel concert experience went in Dallas on August 31st.
I very much enjoyed the concert and was mostly awe-struck the entire time. Singing solo, Shane Alexander and his guitar provided the lead-in performance and I was very amazed at his talent. Much of his music and lyrics provided a passionate reflection of personal events in his life. OK. When Jewel entered from stage right (I was at stage left), I nearly couldn't contain myself. As I looked around first level seating, I think I was the only one who gave her a standing ovation when she walked out. I overheard someone behind me making a comment that you never stand at the beginnng of a performance in a symphony hall. I said to myself, "screw you," I'm going to give her the welcome she deserves. Overwhelmed with emotions as well as a prominent and fairly zealous symphony hall staff, I limited myself to just taking a few shots of the performance. I just wanted to soak in her music, her facial expressions, and with a little humor, Ty, playing the keyboards during one of her encore performances. Finally, her performance of the concert was filmed in HD (High Definition) video. I imagine that the company contracted to film the concert will be doing several different events. There was one particular moment where it did seem that her microphone was /not/ at the level it needed to be and she was being overwhelmed by the output of the band. Anyway, below, I have included the few shots from the concert that turned out halfway decent. I know they are not the best, but I did best I could do under the circumstances.
