Jewel Wants A Baby…ASAP

It’s a familiar story.

Having established themselves as bonafide successes; with their wanton pursuits of fame, capricious romance and independence consigned to the rearview mirror of their twenties, and with the cadence of their biological clocks crescendoing into a deafening roar, the 30-something actress/musician decides suddenly the time for reproduction is now.

Such seems to be the case with Jewel Kilcher who, according to a source quoted in Ok! Magazine, is desperate to have a baby, following her elopement in August with the so-called “King of the Cowboys,” Ty Murray.

“Jewel and Ty are desperately trying to have a baby right now," the source told Ok! earlier this week.

“She told her team to clear her schedule for 2009 because they are planning for a baby,” the source added. “She wants to also release a lullaby record next year because she has such baby fever."

Hmmm…a 34 year-old woman with a large frame, exponentially decreasing metabolism and a career in rapid decline since her ill-conceived 2003 video “Intuition” wants to have a baby as soon as possible? Go figure.

Romantically linked with her rodeo star hubby for 9 years, Kilcher had indicated in the past she was in no rush to have kids, telling People Magazine last year, “We don't know if there's a point – we've lapped our friends who've gotten married and divorced. We probably would if we had kids – we're just not sure we want them yet. But we've had something really special already.”

Our prediction: Having waited so late, after months of attempting to conceive, Jewel will go the route of Angelina Jolie, Jenna Jameson and Jennifer Lopez, and will announce late next year the arrival of twins.
