I want to start a thread specifically for John Mayer. We have been discussing him on the other thread and it's been making me get more into his music and so today I even listened to "Your Body is a Wonderland" and I didn't feel like plugging my ears with peanut butter! I'm real excited to get a listen of "Heavier Things". I really like his music but that is of lately, I don't know too much about him..

So, let's discuss John...

I've never really cared for his songs much. Some are ok but it's probably due to him being so overplayed.

I did not know John is dating Jessica Simpon... I just saw it in a magazine last night.... he seems deeper than to date someone like her..

Well hang on a sec, at the end of the day, she is a person and although she may seem dippy to us, clearly there is more to her than what the public sees. There is with any celebrity. Whatever it is that she has that attracts John, I think it is another example at how opposites can attract.

To be honest, I don't know John Mayer at all. There is a song that plays on the radio a lot where his name is mentioned but i never seem to catch the point where they connect song with name so I don't know which song it is.

There's also a song by someone called John Legend and I just haven't paid enough attention to who's who and who's song belongs to who. I'll pay more attention now to see who you're talking about.

I have heard of John Legend but never heard his music. Kiera I suppose you are right. You can't judge a book by it's cover and it's kind of hypocritical of me to think that about her, especially if you read my new thread about judging people and my experience @ work last night. My bad.

and Kiera maybe the John Mayer song they play is Waiting on the World to Change?

that is a RUMOUR
the picture they have of them together is from 2003 at an awards show
so dont believe it!

I've heard a lot of people say that Waiting on the World to Change sounds exactly like Sexual Healing. Maybe I am too young but I haven't heard Sexual Healing. Is this true? Does it sound like it?

Ok I finally got to listen to Heavier Things and I love it. I gave Room for Squares another shot the other night too and it's better than I remember it, I am okay with Your Body is a Wonderland and I think it was daughters that annoyed me before but I like it now. And I love WHEEL. I still think Continuum is the best but Heavier Things is close. I was looking at the cover of Heavier Things:

I have not heard the village sessions live album. Jessica is going crazy about it though lol cos I think you can only buy it at like one place... Jess can tell you all about it. I'm not sure. Sorry

We are goin to see him in concert in less than 20 hours! lol

ok yea he has like 4 tattoos:
one is a fish or soemthing
one is SRV which stands for Stevie Ray Vaughn (his idol)
one is on the back of one arm and says Home and on the other arm it says Life which is a awesome song from Heavier Things

I am soo glad you liked Wheel and the whole album

no i havent heard the new village sessions even though i would love to..its only like 6 dollars on amazon but im trying to save money at the moment so im trying not to think about buying it lol
