Bat for Lashes
Ok I have not been so entranced by another other artist besides Jewel and Aimee Mann, and if you know me well (which some of you do) those are the 2 artists that just carry me.. so this chick Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes) has just swept me off my feet. Her music is so amazing. It's so Earthy and real feeling and very spiritual feeling too. Of course there's a few catchy pop sounding songs that caught my ear first (and even those pop sounds have so much of an Earthy organic feel to them, its beautiful) anyways blah blah blah I highly recommend giving this chick a listen.
A few of the more radio-friendly songs I recommend to start with are: -What's a Girl to Do? -Prescilla (my personal favorite) -Daniel -Sleep Alone -Pearl's Dream but every song of hers is like a beautiful abstract poetry to my ears. Plus the music videos are all very abstract as well. Fun fun fun

Sadly you're right. It's not what it used to be. Believe it or not, I'm thinking of shutting it down but advise from some people have meant I've kept it open. It was 6 months ago when I considered it. I just don't have the time anymore to dedicate to it and as much help as I thought I had to keep it going, I realised the sad fact, that there's only a couple of eyes checking in every now and then. Not enought to make it what it was. It's very disheartening.
I am a big believer in signs and that signs help you along your path. The sign 222 and 2222 follow me around everywhere that it's beyond any coincidence. It's very interesting that your post stating how dead the forum is, happens to be when you have 2222 posts! See image attached. That's a sign to me. I just need to work out if that means I need to fight to keep it or let it go! As for Bat for Lashes - I love her style and her voice is enchanting. I saw her on TV a few months ago and was intrigued by her music. Really good and I like that she's not trying to conform to what's popular but still doing well anyway. Take care |

Ive heard a few of her songs and I liked them. She kind of reminds me of Bjork in a way.
Very said about the dead forum, by the way

Kiera you have just brought something back that I thought I lost. Things for me lately have been kind of off in my life maybe. I am not as spiritually mystified and cemented in the grounds of right and wrong anymore like I used to be. I used to see signs a lot and I don't know I've given it up. I used to look for and see signs and meaning in everything and it's all become broken down for me lately. My # is 27 (obviously) for me that number always comes up, it's the numbers in my birthdate, my ex-wife's, my current boyfriend and not to mention social security #'s, driver's licence numbers, school ID's, it's CRAZY. Anyhow I have lost that which makes me look for signs but your post has made me feel like I used to when I used to come on this forum. I want that back. I miss everyone here and I miss that part of me that was.
If you do shut the forum down I still want a means to keep in contact with everyone that I've been so connected to on here.

Gary - In my opinion, everything has a reason and purpose no matter what the outcome, good or bad and I think your reason coming back here, was to remember to look for the signs the universe gives us every day.
It's not always numbers but it's always that perfectly timed sign when you look for them or ask for them. I still don't know what all the signs mean and that's the hardest part, trying to interpret them but I am sure they will all become clear when needed. |
