I feel it necessary to point out something very important and also to reiterate something in our Board Guidelines as it has been pointed out to us that misinformation has been circulating.

At NO POINT are we able to, nor tried to, view member PM's!

PM stands for Private Message and that is how they are, private. We would never try and have never tried to overrule that which the software of InvisionFree have provided us.

As stated in the Board Guidelines page :

It is possible for administrators to view emails sent through invisionfree software which is stated at the top of every email form page.
This is part of ALL InvisionFree forum and cannot be turned off.
It is worth noting that we do not view email logs on this forum unless security issues force us to do so (which has been very rare) and only specific emails from specific users are targeted.

I can safely confirm that only emails sent by 3 members of this forum, from this forum have had specific emails read. This was due to suspicious use of our forum and thus, confirmed our findings. 'For security reasons' means that it is in the interest of protecting both the forum and its members.

Feel free to contact either Dave or myself if you feel you would like to discuss this further.

Regards
Kiera

If you wish to confirm that we are NOT lieing, I recommend you checkout the following site:

http://support.invisionfree.com

Everything about invisionfree software can be found there.

If it is at all possible through a 'hack' of the software, we have NEVER performed nor have the capabilities to do so but we wouldn't anyway.

Any accusations of such are completely untruthful

I wish to clarify one more thing. We have NEVER read members PM's. We know that pm's were misused because other members who received them here, sent them to us.

THe only way an administrator can read pm's is to reset the users password and login as that user.

It is worth pointing out that this can be done from ANY forum software that supports a pm service. Not just InvisionFree.

AND WE HAVE NEVER EVER DONE THAT!!!

If you hear otherwise, it's lies.
