rep question
Do you need to have a certain number of posts/certain "rank" in order to give rep points? I've tried to give people points before but the website wouldn't allow me to.

I don't believe you do. i do know that you have to give it to different people. You can't just give the same person rep points after rep points.

Yeah but I wasn't able to give any rep points to anyone yet! Maybe it has something to do with my internet connection.

I'll have to look into this. All registered members can give rep. Can you tell me what the 'exact' error message you get is?
I'll need to check the settings but it is worthwhile checking your cookie settings to make sure you haven't blocked any from the website which could contribute to any issues. |

"You do not have permission to perform this action. Please refresh the page and login before trying again." And even when I follow those instructions it doesn't work. It must have something to do with my lazy connection because I already deleted my cookies.

I still think it's something to do with cookies as it sounds to me like your machine has only accepted 'session' cookies instead of allowing 'all' cookies for jewelkilcherforum.com but I'm not sure what just yet. Have you tried doing this on another machine? I'm curious to see if it is PC related or ID related. If it is your ID, it should be affecting everyone else as you're in the same group as all the other registered JKF members but clearly, this isn't the case as Robby was able to give you rep.
If it is possible for you to try on another machine, please let me know how it goes so I can investigate this further. |

OK...I was finally able to get to a friend's house the other day and test it on her computer...and it worked!...or at least I think it did. So it has something to do with my computer, but I'm not sure what I can do to fix it.

hi wacky, it could also be something to do with 'allow trusted sites'
internet options/security its worth a try, failing that delete all internet cookies and temp files and restart explorer. If you get the blue bar with active-x or the popup blocker just click allow for the forum. hope it helps. lalalala dave.

I haven't started my Firefox advocacy on this forum yet, but you could always download the Firefox web browser!
