Congrats! My personal vote was for London too. I see what the Special Olympics has done to Ireland and it's great. London is a brilliant city and I love it but it is in need of a face lift in various places. The Olympics will bring brilliant improvements so I look forward to booking my trip over there again to see some of the action.

I saw something in the paper about this. It said:
'If you weren't happy about the result, you're probably French' But think about it. Tony Blair was swaying opinions for 4 days before the vote. Jacques Chirac turns up for 11 hours! I think New York were just looking for the sympathy vote but anyway, decision is made. I'm pleased regardless. But let's not be nasty, we have French members here! The only downside to all of this, was Ireland were going to bid for the 2016 Olympics but that is pretty not going to happen now. But I'm not bitter. We had the Special Olympics so we probably wouldn't have gotten the 2016 one anyway. |
