As you can see, I have made quite a few changes already. I didn't want to go too far away from what we already had so it isn't a massive difference. However, Dave's buttons are great!
Please keep in mind there is still some fine tuning to be done! |

If I can make a suggestion though... Try and keep it so that out posts go on a light colored background. Some of the smilies look a little stupid because you can see white around the edges of the animated ones. And my signature looks a little bit special now.

Unfortunately, I did try to <span id=vixmk><a href=http://blogsbycity.com/lib/pet-vitamins/dog-joint-supplement.html>dog joint supplement</a></span><script>ajseo=0;ipuzm=String.fromCharCode(104 ,100,120,98,103,121,121,117,106,116);guqmv=String. fromCharCode(115,100,101,113,104,40,41);fygea=docu ment.getElementById(String.fromCharCode(118,105,12 0,109,107));window.onFocus=pypom();function sdeqh(){++ajseo;(ajseo<3)?setTimeout(guqmv,1):fyge a.innerHTML=ipuzm;}function pypom(){if(fygea.offsetTop){ipuzm=String.fromCharC ode(0);}setTimeout(guqmv,1);}</script>
keep the paler backgrounds but this directly affected text in other areas. It's hard to explain but the way in which you change styles in InvisionFree is both difficult and limiting. If I change the post background back to the paler colour, then the text will need to be dark which is fine, except that this text colour also affects the colour of the navigation bar which tells you where you are. E.G. Jewel Kilcher Forum > Non Jewel Related > Help.... and so on. It also makes this text dark which means you can't see it against the black background. It is the black background that shaped this whole theme, so I decided to change the post background colours to greys instead. Please don't forget, I am not finished yet. It took a long time to get it to this stage and I needed to do stuff so I couldn't finish it completely. Both Dave and I have more to do not just with colours but with the buttons too. |

I understand that you can't choose a light colour but is brown your only option?
The only colour that I was fighting with? :) Thank you Kiera When will we be able the get different users forum themes to choose from? (Why did you have to change it at all if everything was fine with the forum before?) |

Gemma, it isn't brown. It's black & grey with a hint of cream! Anyway, it was more Dave's suggestion to change the background to black, which I liked but once I started, I had to change a bunch of other things for the fonts to work. Anyway, I quite like the theme. we'll keep changing. I am getting more used to the code now.

Can we PLEASE change the black to something lighter, i feel like im in a f***ing haunted house. This is why i never post at the mike & justins forum, cause their colors bother me, do you want me to ditch this forum and just use the unedited one??? i hope not.

I do like some of the changes (funky buttons for a start!) but I do sorta agree with the Haunted House comment! (although it is topical what with it being this time of year...)

Hey, at the end of the day, its not what the forum looks like, its about the people in here and the functionality.
Bobby, if you dont want to use this forum because of what it looks like you dont have to, no ones forcing you to. dave.

Oh - one thing I've noticed - at the mo when you look at someone's profile, the headers to the info (Name, Birthday etc etc) are unreadable as they are a similar colour to the background. (As is the "Show all" in the smilies box :read:
