Default Jewel's fridge - Article on Rachel Ray website

Thanks to Matt on the EDA list for this one.

Quote:
The singer and host of USA Network's Nashville Star brings Rach on board for a peek inside her tour-bus fridge.

Rachael Ray: I've never featured a fridge from a tour bus—yours is the first! Do you share it with anyone?

Jewel: Stingily, yes—I share it with my sound guy, my assistant and my tour manager. I tour solo—no band, just me and my guitar—and we all pile in after a show and drive to the next gig. I have a private bedroom so I stay on the bus, but everyone else usually stays at a hotel.

RR: I see you have sugar-free Red Bull. Do you drink that to get pumped for a show?.

Jewel: I try to stick with Arizona Green Tea. If I'm feeling particularly tired before a show, I'll indulge in a Red Bull. But then I don't sleep for two days.

RR: What's the deal with the turkey and olives? Did you swipe that from a craft-services table?

Jewel: I basically live on the road, so getting real food is impossible. But hotels always leave some cold cuts for me, so I have a constantly replenished supply of turkey. I eat so much of it, I think I'm turning into a turkey!

RR: I see takeout containers—what's your favorite?

Jewel: I have two: chicken Caesar salad—it's usually good, no matter where you get it—and pizza. I love pizza with peppers, onion and sausage, or white pizza. I'm a Gemini, so I can rarely make up my mind!
RR: How about the Cracker Barrel? Do you have cooking space on the bus to make grilled cheese?

Jewel: There's a cooking space, but I've never used it. I pretty much just nibble. It's funny to see what shows up at different venues. Sometimes I get really great Parmigiano-Reggiano; other times I get Cracker Barrel and Velveeta.

RR: I always ask: If you were having a dinner party and could invite anyone at all, who would it be?

Jewel: Well, I've had the pleasure of dining with so many interesting and talented people, but the more I travel, the more I learn to cherish my time with my family and friends, so I'd have to say my boyfriend, Ty.

RR: That's sweet. Before I let you go, one more thing: Is there anything else in the crisper drawer that you're hiding from us, like, umm, the rest of the food?!

Jewel: OK, the fridge does look a wee bit bare, because this is what I eat when I get off stage, and I don't want to eat a big meal too late at night. So, yes, it looks a little sad. Being on the road is not all glam!

Damn, I was hoping that Johnny Cash was the answer to the last question. But oh well, I understand her inviting Ty.

What is Cracker Barrel when they are talking about it in this article? I am confused b/c Cracker Barrel is a restaurant...

I have no idea what Cracker Barrell is. I was hoping someone else here would. I was guessing it was a type/brand of cheese

Eh, I didn't write these. They're on the article on the Rachel Ray website. I think you've misunderstood slightly. Ah well...

I love Cracker Barrel, the chicken fried chicken is awesome. Ok it seems like this forum went from the Jewel Kilcher Forum to the Food Network Forum. What's up with all this food talk all over the forum?? I blame it on Andrea's bacon and Jessica's meatloaf!
