Jewel is judging on American Idol right now - Page 2

I don't know. A few times Jewel said some kind of mean things... it made me sad... Like she'd laugh along with eveyrone else and stuff. However, I have to say that I just don't understand how some people can think they're so incredibly talented when in fact, they're not. I mean, I sing, but I know I'm not AMAZING, you know? There was one kid who was awful, but was crying afterward and Ryan Seacrest was trying to be like, "Well, maybe singing just isn't your thing, you know?" And he was all pissed off like, "It is! I'm been singing my whole life!!!" And his mother's there being like "You'll be famous, don't worry, you'll be famous..." I just think that's sad and wrong. Just because you've been singing your whole life doesn't make you good at it. And his mother telling him he'll "be famous"??! Way to set your kid up for disappointment, mom.... being famous takes being in right place at the right time with the right amount of money, and occasionally, it has to do with talent. I dunno, I'm done. Sorry!

I totally agree with you! I love to sing but I'm not quite a singer so I don't exept much.

And yeah, some people can be so vain...

That's sad how parents set their kids up for disapointment like that...
And yes I don't understand how people go on there thinking they are so talented. I think a lot of people think they sound good when they are singing along to music in the car or something, but to go on national television I'd want to make sure I sounded great, not just mediocre

Yeah Jewel was nice and did try to bite her tongue, butr some people need to be told "You suck" or they will just continue kididng themslves. I mean...that woman who sang the Lion's song from The Wizard of Oz....yeah.

It was only for the minneapolis auditions. I wish I could upload it but I didn't record it or anything. But yeah this girl was her biggest fan and she sang foolish games and totally butchered it and poor Jewel didn't want to break her heart. She just looked shy and didn't know what to say so she said I don't want to talk right now. But at the end she just said no. Plus if you ever meet Jewel in real life you'll find out she is the most shyest and sincere person.

That's my bad too. I did forget to add it to the calendar and I also completely forgot it was on.

Really sorry everyone...I try to remember as much as I can but I missed this one.

Jewel did a phone interview this morning with a San Diego radio station. The interview lasted about two minutes. I got to record a good portion of it on my cell phone. Well, here's a quick recap of what went down. She mentioned that she was there for about 9 to 10 hours that day. Jewel said she felt really bad about the girl's performance (the one that sang YWMFM). She said she actually got up and hugged her, but they didn't show that on TV. Jewel answered a question about Paula as well. She said that being a celebrity is a tricky deal cause you're living your life in public. She said Paula should be just fine (even with all those crazy interviews Paula did). Jewel also mentioned that she turned down the Real World (MTV show) season one because she didn't want to be known as a reality TV girl because she wanted people to know her for her music. These are just a few things from the interview. I was thinking about posting the interview on you tube so that people can hear Jewel say that she felt really bad for the girl that performed her song.
