he does every morning b/c when I come home from work and check jkf and myspace, he is here in the same room with me so I know he hears it, especially with those big ears of his...... what is his problem. I am going to call him Fiver the Grouch instead of Oscar (his name is Fiver and if you don't get it then go read Watership Down, or watch the movie)

Kiera, did I read correctly that you had a cat named Baz? I actually did some 'work' with a guy whose call sign was 'Baz', about a year ago.
Never did figure out his name, BTW? Where did you get 'Baz' from? Last edited by 007; 03-26-2007 at 11:13 PM. |

It's not that I 'had' a cat, I 'have' a cat named Baz. I gave him about 12 names in a week coz I couldn't decide. In the end, I saw someone on TV with the name Baz and thought it was simple so that's what I called him. Been that for nearly 12 years now.
Needless to say, he isn't a big fan of Jewel, at least, not that he lets on. He does like Enigma though which isn't surprising given the amount of relaxing and snoozing he loves to do. |

I love all these stories! what a great topic I was introduced to Jewel in 2002 I was driving around with my Aunt and her Girlfriend. They are more like best friends to me. Anywho It was around 3am and they were giving me all these cds they used to listen to. I poped in POY and went to track 13 for some reason it was Angel Standing By. I was seriously in awe. I had never been into music before and i was inlove lol. Then i kept playing the rest od the cd. Came to morning song and had remembered that somehow that song was on my computer around 1999 so Morning song is the first song i ever heard from jewel. I didnt know that they had given me Spirit too. So everynight I would play POY and Spirit while I was going to sleep. I was so fascinated by her voice! I had never heard anything like it. I was obssessed with high notes and low notes for some reason. Still am today actually lol. But, anywho that is when i dicovered jewel and have been hooked ever since.
PS My aunt and her gf had gotten out of jewel by the time i had dicovered her but now i have them hooked again. I think a lot of people can relate like i did with POY it helped me with my life and helped me dicover who i am. Jewel is such an inspiring Woman. Really is a Angel-Goddess! K im done lol ~Nathan |

really liked your post, great story Nathan. (I always said, ironically enough, that if I ever had a boy I'd name him Nathan, good strong name).
I'm also glad you could get your family back into Jewel. That's really, really great. Oh, and BTW, I listen to POY when I have trouble sleeping, mostly "Angel Standing By", and usually every momrning before I head out, I'll listen to 'Morning Song" at least once. Kinda makes things happy, gives the day a good feel. 007 |

Yep, kinda liked the sound of Nathan, very old English fel to it, but not ebselete like some name are today.
You know how you know that guy Jim? (come on, everyone knows a 'Jim'.) Well, his name is James, but epople ruin it with JIm, or Jimmy, or the hated Jimbo. Well, I think that Nathan has a dominant sound and has an articulated vibe to it. (not that I am dissing this name, but it sounds better than Joe! My best bud's name is Joe, but I'm just saying that you can't really corrupt the name Nathan, that's why I like it.) Welcome to the forum, dear lad. |

I started liking Jewel a few years ago. I had just gotten into Jack Johnson and listening to music with more creative lyrics. I really liked some of Jack's lyrics and it made me think "Whoa lyrics are powerful!" I started searching for similar artists on some music website and Jewel popped up. Then I searched for fansites and I listened to a bunch of her unreleased stuff. I thought she was sooo cool after that. I bought POY, Spirit, and This Way all together for like 10 bucks from ebay and then I never replaced them in my CD player for months. Now Jewel takes up more space on my MP3 player than any other artist. |

He has a website he just started really setting up. www.atzkilcher.com
You can hear some of his songs and he sells his cds if you contact him. There are some lovely pictures of the Kilchers on the site & you can see how Jewel takes after her grandmother. |
