It's not a "great pop record" It's only almost as good as her folk record ;) |

she still says it was her favorite album and the first one she actually enjoyed listening 2 - i guess many of you don't agree with jewel though i myself am not a fan of the song haunted - but i'm sure it stands completely in its own area of belonging - nothing she's done is even close to that (at least i don't think so anyways) i can't remember the last time i listened to POY actually - the album is a bit middle school for me and is quite - BORING - no offense - but i used to be able to stand it lol |

Personaly i think the longer you wait these days for 'talented' artists, not your typical common as muck chart troddle!!! to bring out there material the better it will be. I also think its gonna be nothing remotly like '0304'...but we shall see,i could be proved wrong *ahem* as always :P

Yeah,
I feel that the album will be relased in september. I suppose we have to keep an eye out at the concerts and stuff to see what she says. I just read an article somewhere that said the album will be relased in the fall again so you never know. The people at It was Fye had it in their computer for fall 05 so I don't know They told me an untitleted album fall of 05 |

For those who didn't get it, I was being sarcastic with my last statement. I know that the album isn't going to be like 0304 musically, and I actually have a feeling that it'll be her best one yet... maybe. At this point I really don't care how long we have to wait just as long as it's released soon. After this album though, I'm still wanting her to do a Jazz type of one. There's no telling what she'll decide to do next, and yes, it just may be 'pop' again. ;)

Now she is saying February...
:( How long must we wait. 3 years is really bad. I hope it isn't Febraury we have waited long enough. I just read in some article if i can find it I will post it that she wants to do a Jazz Standard type record pr a country record in the future. So maybe one of them is next |

But i sure hope my good fellow American chums, that you keep us jolly British Kilcherians informed of all the gossip that Jewel 'may' mention at her live dates...presuming some of you go to them, which im in no doubt that most of you will :D :dunno: "veilingmeat ponders over who to go with when Jewel tours England, coz all his Metal chums dont know his a Jewel fan and he'll have nobody to go with" :dunno: :(

will never buy an album again 'just coz its Jewel'. So, Fair Princess, this new album will be pretty much like the SPIRIT album. If she risks anything else, there'll be no-one left in the Land of Kilcher for you to reign over. Easy... the Prezident Formerly Known as Intrepid ;) And remember where you heard it first. B)

Eh, oh well, it's up to them. Quite frankly, I think that any Jewel fan, new or old, who thinks/thought she'd stay folk or pop the rest of her career are just naive. I may be the only one who thinks this way, but I still don't see her sticking with just one or two genres all the time now, and I really don't expect all her fans to love each of them. I can definitely see a rock, country and (obviously) jazz album in the future. But, as always, we'll just have to wait and see.

There is a simple fact of life, Princess...
Each of Jewel's albums have sold less and less. Jewel has gone from being acclaimed as an outstanding new artist with POY... to being riddiculed by every major music journo with 0304. So... it is not being "naive" to think that Jewel cannot progress to different forms of music. She simply loses fans every time she tries. But it is being naive if fans don't accept the fact that she doesn't have the musical ability to reinvent herself like Madonna, Bowie or even Kylie. After 0304 people won't bother to riddicule Jewel anymore... it'll be worse... they'll ignor her as a spent force. Unless she goes back to what she's good at... her next album will be her last. Easy...

I'm afraid I'll have to do the unthinkable! I'll have to agree with Justin. Yes, I said it. I agree with Justin, let's not dwell on it.
I was just thinking of Madonna over the weekend and how great Ray of Light album is. It was such a new sound for her and she pulled it off. Then I thought, what if Jewel got William Orbit onto her music, would she have made it too? I actually doubt it. Jewel just, I don't know, just....what's the word, can't think. She just can't pull off reinventions. I will always love her and whatever she does though! |
