Jewel said that she wrote Nicotine Love after she saw a movie about a female who gets rapped and then maked herself to a murderer, searching for men they did the samethings to other girls and murdered them.. So I thought did she saw the movie MONSTER? not the one from 2004 but i heard from a older one, could that be true? what do you mean?

she said it was from a tv special, and that was suppost to be back when she lived in Alaska. I don't know if there's an older version of 'Monster' but I think she just saw some tv special like dateline nbc or something that her boyfriend at the time recorded for her. Not sure exactly what it was though, she never explained.

What year was that? The whole Eileen Wournos (sp??) trial and all??? in the 80's? Late 70's early 80's?

the movie made it look older, especially witht he Journey music and all... so that was probably the right time for her to see a special on it. You are probably right about it being her then.

Haha after watching monster I was like god, what is that song I have to find out and it took me forever to find out it was Journey and now I listen to it all the time.

yeah i meant eileen, i watched a documentary on her the other night and both her parents died then she moved in with her grandparents and her grandfather always told them he wanted to shoot them or hang them out back, and then the grandmother died and he threw them out, she then got raped and had a baby and everyone assumed she was a whore so she had a very hard life

I listened to Nicotine Love this morning and listened to Jewel's intro and I once again am not convinced that Eileen is who she is talking about. She says there was a serial rapist/killer who would rape women and kill them and this woman was the only one to escape and she was sent to counciling and the decided to go find men like him and kill them.
Eileen was raped by a man who was one of her "clients" and didn't go to counciling, didn't tell anyone, just sort of lost her mind and kept killing them and robbing them. I don't think Nicotine Love is about her.

I never knew anything about the Eileen connection before it was mentioned in this thread. Is there something online that shows this is what she is talking about in Nicotine Love? It's quite intriguing.

first i thought i was wrong because it couldnt had been in the same time when
jewel saw the documentary and the first ailleendocumentary cames out, but the story of aileen played around 1989 to 1992. And the first documentary (!) were made 1992 (Nick Broomfield directed two documentaries: Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer (1992), and Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer (2003). Broomfield conducted the last media interview with Wuornos on the day before her execution.)
