Does anybody know why jewel just play it in 1996? its such a great song with intellegent lyrics! Very funny but sad at the same time. AWESOME! why didnt she released it on an album or even never play it again live? Does anybody know? I love this song
BTW did someone heared about her song Love aint for lovers anymore? Its like a nashvillestarcountrypopsong i think, but its not bad.

She sang "Love Ain't For Lovers Anymore" when I saw her in concert in 2002. Before then I never heard of it.

They're not so strange if you've read some of Jewel's books that are out. There's one that goes into detail about when she was homeless and had to do all her personal hygiene in public bathrooms, like at KMart. At least that's where I think the references in this song are from anyway. Imagining her in 'Kmart, the bathroom, standing in the mirror' and naked doesn't seem like such a stretch when you think of it that way.

You're welcome!! I've read almost every book on Jewel that's out there, and I found I know so much more than I would've otherwise as a Jewel fan. Her time being homeless really affected her songwriting during that time, and this is one of the songs it really shows.
