Question: Jewel, will you publish another book of poetry soon?

Jewel?s Answer: My poetry has sorta been on hold. I wrote a book of love poems, but I got cold feet once I started gathering them together. I don't know. I used to believe that writing was the only sacred thing; all experience was to be pillaged and laid before the feet of Poetry. Each kiss or heartbreak was just fuel for fire. Faces and places were all to be sacrificed at the altar of the written word....but lately I don't know. I guess it?s because I'm in love with a person more than I'm in love with writing about a person. So I've written all this poetry for Ty, but once I thought about the whole world seeing it, I didn't feel ready. Maybe one day, but right now I feel like keeping it for him. And I haven't really written poetry about anything else. But as I've been writing songs, I feel like my lyrics are really hitting a stride, so the poetry is all coming out of me that way right now.

Thanks KJM. That's an interesting quote. I can see her point. It is hard to put something so deeply personal out there for the world to see. Some of the critics were brutal about her poetry book. One "poet" even wrote a satirical sequel called A Night Without Armor II: The Revenge.

I'd like to see her write some comedy. ;)

we at JKF have been trying for some time now to have an interview with Jewel, and of course in the process try and get Jewel to join :-) here's an extract from our 'unofficial' but, exclusive interview:

JKF Admin "Jewel, have you heard of JKF and will you be joining"

Jewel (after some diliberation.........................
...................) "NO and NO!"

JKF Admin"Did you know that your official site charges members/fans to use the forum?"

Jewel (after some diliberation.........................
...................) "NO"

JKF Admin"Did you realise that JKF has become the highest ranked 'Jewel Kilcher Forum' on google search lol ?"

Jewel (after some diliberation.........................
...................) "NO"

JKF Admin"Do you really like the strange tiles with hanging rabbits in your kitchen"

Jewel (after some diliberation.........................
...................) "NO"

JKF Admin(after some diliberation.........................
...................) "Did you really play 'who will save your souls' in the wrong key for Bob Dylan"

Jewel "YES" :muhaha:

JKF Admin"So will you now please join the bestest and newest Jewel Forum on the net?"

Jewel "YES YES YES" :muhaha: :muhaha: :muhaha: "now just go!!" :devil1:
