Default Atz Kilcher performs in Bellingham

Found this from the Bellingham Herald

Quote:
February 24th
Vietnam veteran and Alaskan musician Atz Kilcher (who’s also the father of recording artist Jewel) sings folk, bluegrass and country tunes, yodels and maybe even shares cowboy poetry in a 21-and-older concert at 7 tonight at the VFW Post 1586, 625 N. State St. Proceeds benefit the local chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America. Tickets are $10. Call 734-5520 or 201-3877 for more information on the event. For more on his music, visit www.atzkilcher.com.
Anyone in Washington that could catch the show?

I also noticed this from www.atzkilcher.com

Atz Kilcher
P.O. Box 15004
Fritz Creek
AK. 99603
Kilcher Rd. AK.

They have a road named after them in Alaska....I never knew that!

Here's a photo with Atz Kilchers parents. Jewel is so like her grandmother. I've never seen a photo of her that shows just how much she looks like her

Although I cannot disclose how I got his personal mobile number, but today, I had the rare opportunity to speak with Atz over the telephone. He's about the nicestman I've ever met. I called him not knowing it was 6:45 Alaska time, and even with me waking him up out of bed, after he said he had a 'long night before', he was the nicest guy in the world. He said he was glad to hear that I liked Jewel's music, and she is leaning towards a few country albums out now. He told me he though I was his son calling and that's the only reason he picked up. I chuckled. but he was the nicest guy I've ver met.

I was kinda shocked he was still in Alaska, but he told me he's flying to Wash State today. Great fella with a cool guy attitude. Think about it, here's a runt pr!ck like myself, calling the great Atz Kilcher (I have several of his albums, and I dig his sound), and he actually took out ten minutes to speak with me. Who would have thought?

Knowing me, we talked a little military stuff, and some music, Cash, ALmman Brothers, Skynard, and I told him I liked Cash and SKynard, and all he said was "RIGHT ON!" At least we share the same interests in music.

I hope he gives Jewel my regards to her. he rprobably gets calls from fans all the time, but he was quite cordial to have been woken up at 7 in the morning after playing tilll late last ight. ALthough I wouldn't advise calling him, for obvious reasons.

The nicest man I've ever met.

what do you mean?

Contrary to people's beliefs, I actually spoke with him. Please clarify.

No kidding. I'm not sure anything really beats that.

Nothing personal, Andrea and guys. It's just, when someone posts they spoke to the great Atz Kilcher, no one believes it. just like my father's best friend getting tipsfrom Arnold Schwarzenegger. No one believed him until he showed them that he was on the film 'Pumping Iron' (he had like a ten second cameo), adn then people believed him.

Nothing, just really starstruck by it.

well if there's no reason to doubt then, who cares what people think eh?

and I apologize for assuming. in the future I will keep my opinions to myself.
