Jewel on Live Earth!
Started watching Live Earth today and there was a mini documentary at the beginning with Richard and Sam Branson in the Arctic and all of a sudden, there's Jewel singing on the screen! I pressed record on my Sky+ box immediately. Thank God for technology. Surprisingly, they never said her name.
The performance was from the one she did at the inuit school a little while back. I have a few different little pieces of Jewel that I have spotted on TV the last few days. I will do my best to copy them to DVD and somehow get them only my computer to upload them onto YouTube. I'd welcome any pointers on this as it's something I never do. She even sings an improvised alternative verse to Who Will Save Your Soul from within an igloo at the very end of the documentary. It's worth a look. I'd love to share it. These are the lyrics of the alternative verse: "The polar bears have to swim farther and farther Everything was getting harder and harder For the Inuit people that's why we gotta Oh la di da da Because who will, who will save your soul If you won't save your own?" |

She didn't perform at any of the concerts. She was just part of one of the short films that opened on the London show with Richard Branson. It was filmed in the Arctic (i think) with an inuit community.
We've already seen the school performance a couple of weeks ago but the part where she sings the alternative verse to WWSYS is at the end of the short film. She is wrapped up warm in an igloo with Sir Richard Branson. He even warms up her hands at the end coz it's so cold. I've no DVD's left so I'll buy some on Monday and get reoording when I get home. |

I'm having stupid problems with my laptop trying to get this over. Sorry about the delay everyone. I'm going to have to piece together a PC out of the parts I have here and do it that way. The laptop is causing jumps and glitches.

If you want a really good program for converting DVD to AVI you can use Total Video Converter, it's what I use all the time and it's never given me any problems.

damn I wish she would have performed. I bought the songs from iTunes that Metallica performed and they were awesome. Pretty uplifting considering it's Metallica

I was really annoyed with the TV coverage of Metallica. RTE (Irish national broadcaster) decided to go to a football match right when they were coming on stage and BBC were doing a silly interview, cut to half way through the first song (think it was Sad but True, can't remember very well), then played all of the second song and didn't show ANY of the third one. I was really pissed off.
I ended up having to get them online. I bought the tracks off www.livemetallica.com |
