Fellow Kilcherians
Jewel fans have posted endless messages complaining about Jewel's PR/Management... or rather... lack of it. Crappy 'Velvet Rope', photos with Jewel months late or even vanishing, unavailable 'Instant Live', ordinary 'Official Site'... now we've even gotta PAY to exchange messages with fellow Kilcherians in the Official Forum... its ENDLESS. Well... Sony and Destiny's Child's PR team know a bit about PR. They're REWARDING loyal fans. Check out this story from Sydney: Destiny's Child Film Secret TV Performance With Fans In Sydney Subscribers to Destiny's Child on our website got TOTALLY lucky last week, when we gave away a stack of tix to see the world's biggest female R&B superstars up close, recording a live and exclusive TV performance in Sydney on Friday. Read on... It almost seemed to good to be true...win tix to see Destiny's Child in an intimate and exclusive performance. But the dream became a reality when 40 lucky subscribers to Destiny's Child on the SONY BMG website, got to bring a friend and see the most bootylicious babes in the world, performing up close and personal in a rare live set in Sydney last Friday. Anticipation was running at fever-pitch as nearly 100 fans eagerly gathered outside the Zero One Zero studios in Willoughby, and when everyone was finally allowed on set in the studio, the buzz was astronomical - yup, us lucky punters were about to witness THE hottest gals in the music world, strutting their stuff and couldn't believe our luck. With their most adoring fans gathered around nice'n'close, the charming and breath-takingly stunning Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle made their grand entrance on stage to mad applause, howls and screaming, greeting us all with those big million dollar smiles and plenty of waves. Not surprisingly, the audience went ballistic...and didn't stop. Yes, the crowd was SO enthusiastic that filming had to be stopped halfway through the first take of 'Cater 2 U' (from their latest album, 'Destiny Fulfilled'), the girls completely unable to hear themselves singing through the foldback over the almost deafening cheering and screaming from the crowd! With everyone forced to tone it down a bit, recording continued. But unfortunately, a TV recording wouldn't be a TV recording without some sort of back-end dramas. Technical sound issues saw Destiny's Child have to do a few repeat performances of 'Cater 2 U' and their infectious new single 'Girl', but as a testament to their superstar status, were complete professionals and joked with fans, despite the occasionally frustrating setbacks. And hey, it wasn't like we were going to complain - we got to see the absolutely adorable and bubbly Ms Kelly Rowland bust out some breakdancing when she finally prised open her mic clip with her 'huge' muscles after her crew tried and failed; watch the girls do a hilarious intro for TV, cracking up as they tried to seriously introduce themselves as the wrong member of the group; and experience the shiver-inducing, gigantic vocals of the phenomenal Beyonce, who pretty much had everyone mesmerised for the entire afternoon, least of all the security guards in the back corner... The recordings of Destiny's Child performing 'Girl' and 'Cater 2 U' in Sydney will be seen on music TV right around the world over the coming weeks PLUS we'll bringing it to you to watch RIGHT HERE on this site, so keep your eyes peeled, especially fans that came along on the day - you might just see yourself in the footage. Having conquered Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne over the last week with their unbelievable live shows on the 'Destiny Fulfilled...And Lovin' It' World Tour - a bona fide celebration of their music together and as a solo artists - Destiny's Child have now sadly departed our shores. However, fans can still get their Destiny's Child fix with the new single 'Girl', released this week... Easily one of the big crowd faves at DC shows, the 'Girl' single includes a bunch of awesome remixes of the irresistible, upbeat R&B groover by the likes of Junior Vasquez and others. This is definitely one for your collection! Destiny's Child's new single 'Girl' out now. .................................................. .................... .................................................. .................... Say Kiera... wanna use your SUPER-POWERS and show this to Jewel's management. Instead of paying for riddiculous Jewel's Panties... and f***!ng Can Koozies... how about something like this now and again ??? Easy... Justin ;)

Other than that you're right on 100%, Justin. I've posted enough subtle complaints in the official forums that I should get some kind of award. I mean with all the love and oneness in the official forums it's getting harder to remember that the glass is still 3/4 empty. ;) :o :dir: :bang: :mecry:

Just shows you what a load of money grabbing b@st@rds the Jewel management must be. The thing that really pisses me off Justin is that they are supposed to have Jewels interests at heart.
Im wondering if Jewel actually knows that her fans are being forced to pay to 'exchange views' ? I DONT THINK SHE KNOWS Whatever happened to freedom of speech? :lalala: Dave

Yeah bluediamond... I'm serious... show Jewel's management this article. :)
All three of Destiny's Child's albums achieved platinum status in Oz, so did Beyonce's album. Kelly Rowland's album acheived gold and Michelle Williams's gospel album also did well. Therefore Sony Music have received squillions of bucks from Australian DC fans. S0... how good was this ??? Without exageration, tickets for the DC video filming would have sold for over a thousand dollars each. Sony and DC's management were sitting on a DEAD-EASY 40 GRAND !!! But no... this special event was GIVEN FOR FREE to ramdomly selected loyal Aussie DC fans. Sony realise that it was 40 grand well spent. DC's management showed that DC fans are appreciated and should be rewarded for their loyalty and support. And... if you read the article, DC themselves interacted with the fans, with Kelly even giving an impromptu break-dance. Now... compare that event with the expensive velvet rope thingo... where Jewel just stands there like a starched fart. ... edited to fix spelling:

No one will ever say you lack descriptors, Justin....ha ha- a "starched fart"?!
Uhm...could you elaborate on that??...Never heard that one in the USA... so excatly what is a "starched fart" I mean I get some idea from the context of the sentence but that description puts my imagination into overdrive...so If you could help paint a picture with that one.... Ha ha "starched fart" That is a classic!! :) |

Sensibly, I once let a really hard cricket ball sail passed me so it wouldn't hurt my hands should I have attempted to catch it. (At a school game) Somewhat unimpressed, the sports teacher screams out: "Don't just stand there like a starched fart Justin... chase after it you useless pr!ck !!!" Anyway Craig... as you know, a fart is an anal odorous vapour that drifts aimlessly away with the breeze. (Usually accompanied by a rasping sound as it resonates past the cheeks) But... should you spray it with starch, the particles would cling to the fart giving it both shape and form. Consequently the fart would be quite rigid and appear visible to the naked eye, fixed in a stable position... motionless and perfectly useless. Yeah Craig... much like Jewel at a velvet rope thingo. :) ...

Give me a break, Mike...
It ain't my fault that Craig doesn't know what a Starched Fart is. And anyway... if you know a more "eloquent" way of describing a Starched Fart... LET'S HEAR IT !!!

And is there a special brand of starch that one uses for this purpose. Rose scented perhaps?

Hey Kiera...
Isn't it your job to ensure that threads stay on-topic ??? My original post was to make a quite important (and valid) point that Jewel's PR team should endeavour to take their job more seriously. I was pointing out how Kelly Rowland performed an impromptu break-dance, and that Beyonce was also interacting enthusiastically with DC's fans. Maybe Jewel's PR team should advise Jewel to be more responsive to her fans, especially at the expensive Velvet Rope thingos. So, if you and Mike would stop making light of this topic, I'd like to ask you both this quite poignant question: When's the last time you saw a Starched Fart break-dancing ???

she's really shy, what do you expect. Maybe if she decides to abuse pain killers again she'd be a little more responsive.
