Default Jewels got me again

So im not that into her new stuff tough i like it - but nothing against the classic jewel. How do you feel about her new stuff? I think its lovely but its not as deep as her older work.

So i really fell in love again with the whole pieces of you album and enter from the east, last dance rodeo (the amazing live version with the saxophone)etc.

What do you think? What do you hear recently Jewelbased?

I'm the exact same way! Sweet and Wild sits on my iPod hardly listened to, but a few weeks ago I made a playlist of my 25 favorite songs ever, and there was quite a lot of Jewel on there from Pieces of You through Goodbye Alice. To this day, Last Dance Rodeo remains my favorite of her songs, in fact it's my favorite song in the world. Also up there are Daddy, Amen, Barcelona, The New Wild West... sadly, though I still listen when it crops up on shuffle, none of her recent work.

Yes.. I really hope that the next album gets to be deeper again. A Rock/Rock n Roll-album would be coolof Jewel

That's what I'm also hoping for. Kinda like This Way Album.
But to be honest, Sweet & Wild is a great album in my opinion. MJy family listen to it almost everyday. They all like "TEN" and I LOVE YOU FOREVER and ONE TRUE THING. Jewel Rocks as always...

Oh I love LDR. Can't believe it almost never made it into the world. What other great delights didn't get pulled out of the trash can?

Yes as much as I like Jewel's new material, I have to treat it like they are from a separate artist.

I'd love to see more of the opinionated, political, satirical, raw and deeper songs from the heart that we heard when we fell in love with Jewel and less of the lovey dovey shallower stuff.

So I read in her post on Facebook that she is back to work again... something like that she will be recording from 2pm til 2am tonight, and she mentioned something about being a cranky folk singer. Perhaps she is going back to her original format?
