New Year's Resolutions!
Yep - it's that time of year again where we all contemplate what the New Year will bring and hope to start it as we mean to go on, afresh and with a positive outlook on improving ourselves and our lives in some way. The New Year's resolutions get made around now and we endeavour to start them on January 1st and hope to get past 2 weeks without breaking them!
I'm planning on getting back to finding time to read books and get more exercise. I just don't get time to read books anymore and I actually miss reading them. I love literary stimulation and get excited about really good stories and excellent writing. I got some lovely books as gifts for Christmas so I'm making a resolution to make more time to properly sit down, switch off and read! I'm an avid walker but got quite lazy about it since Seryn was born and then when I went back to work, again, there never seemed to be time for it. I was making a concerted effort for about 4 or 5 months leading up to about a month ago and getting out for a brisk 40 min walk in the evenings after Seryn was in bed but I just need to get back into it. It's been frigging colder than cold so I've been using that as an excuse but weather never bothered me before so I'm just going to push myself. So what's your New Year's resolution for 2009? |

Mmm... Be more open to "strange people", because otherwise I would never ever let them become in "known people" :P
Take care |

Oh well...I'm planing to work more on my body...do sport and eat healthier if possible:P
Actually, I was thinking about how well i did last year! I really did a lot of new things, got in touch with old friends, met new ones, traveled, had fun, studied, got my bachelor degree so hopefully this year will be even better:P did you do something you're happy and proud about?

Well I am determined to lose the last 14lbs of baby weight I put on so I am back to my weight watchers diet on Monday. I put on around 30lbs after having Seryn and managed to lose 16lbs in the first couple of months which was great however, the last 14lb just won't shift unless I really do some serious work. I'm also going back to my walking. Stopped a few weeks before christmas. I was great at it up until then. I always feel great after a power walk!
As for any others, I definitely plan on staying in better contact with friends. This year has been so all over the place and getting back to work after maternity leave back in May has meant I've let a lot of things slide. I'm determined to improve on my time here on the JKF too. I used to live on this website and do so much but parenthood and working full time has really impacted that so I'll be working extra hard from now on to improve the JKF as best I can! |

Kiera, you and me have the same resolutions. I think we should try and motivate one another. Having a bad day, let me know and I'll have a cheesy feel-good message to get you back on track. I want to lose weight as I gotta meet a man this year. No more waiting for Prince Charming, I'm taking matters into my own hands (easy there Dave, it's a metaphor!). I'm going speed dating on the 30th January and I am doing the whole online thing but I'm going to get a lot more active in that respect.
