Default John Rich Producing Jewel's Country Album

John Rich is currently the producer of Jewel's upcoming Country Album:

Quote:

April 3, 2007 — John Rich of Big and Rich has been putting in long hours in the studio producing Jewel's new country album.

"Her lyrics are unbelievably brilliant," John tells The Tennessean. "She is more of a country singer than she is a pop singer. She has all the breaks in her voice like Tammy Wynette; she has the emotion of Patsy Cline. I didn't even realize how great she was until we got in there."

John also co-produced Cowboy Troy's Black in the Saddle, which will be released in June. John sings on the project, along with "Nashville Star" winner Angela Hacker and rock group Avenged Sevenfold. "It grabs you by the throat and does not let you go," John says. "It's another gear of Cowboy Troy."
Big & Rich are currently enjoying the fastest-rising single of their career with "Lost in This Moment," which is on pace to be the act's first Top 10 hit. Although the duo have experienced multi-platinum sales, they haven't had a big hit single. "We've never seen what could happen with our career if we could land the heavy radio airplay," John says.

Cool! This album sounds like my cup of tea. Couldn't help thinking of that song of theirs: "We're comin' to yaw ci-tay! Gonna play our guitars and sing you a country song!" And as far as Cowboy Troy goes, he's hot, too bad his music sucks. But yeah there's something about a tall black cowboy in tight Wranglers and a hat- hubba hubba! (sorry felt like saying that)

It makes me happy that there is an album in the offing. She's nothing if not prolific.

Yes, I agree that Cowboy Troy looks better than his music sounds.....cowboy "rap" is just TOO FAR for even the most liberal country music fans, I think. Big-and-Rich's hard rock-tinged sound alone is even a far stretch for the country realm, even today, although they are receiving much more acceptance and praise now. When they first came out, Nashville was SHOCKED. I know that Troy is a very talented guy, but it just doesn't seem like there's a market for his sound. And that's even with John Rich's name & amazing song-writing reputation attached to it.

And as far as Jewel's new country album goes, I'm REALLY PUMPED for it now!! John Rich has had amazing success with his production and song-writing skills, and he is the 'IT' guy in Nashville these days. Jewel has gone to the right person for this album. This also pretty much confirms that Jewel is signed to Warner Brothers Nashville records, the home to Big-N-Rich, Faith Hill, The Wreckers, and Randy Travis to name a few.....

Don't count it out yet, you might end up liking it and surprising yourself!!! Do you like her song 'Anybody But You'???? I think it's an example of what's to come on this new record.
