Post Updated Performances format on the wiki...opinions?

So I'm going through and updating the way performances are indexed on the wiki to a new format, very heavily based on Bjork's Gigography page.

I felt that a slightly more detailed listing will be easier to navigate than a list of dates and cities (for example if a show in NYC is a specific television appearance, etc).

Anyway, I've only updated 1994 and 1995 so far because it takes a long time to update:

1994 Performance Index

1995 Performance Index

and the old way: 1996 Performance index

Before I continue onto the rest, I wanted to ask if I should include anything else or rearrange the table or anything similar..I'd rather make changes now than after I've finished updating them all! :P

The only downside to indexing them this way is that it isn't automatic, so when a show is added to the wiki, I have to add it into the table as well, whereas before it was updated automatically. I'm okay with that downside because I like this presentation more...

anyways, opinions?

I like the new layout, it looks much neater. Could you include how many songs were performed in the table?

Chris.

I'm a big fan of more organised layouts and that's really good. I think it's a great improvement and it's great that you're continuing to improve the site! Well done.

I hadn't thought about number of songs performed...good idea!

Thanks, Chris

And thanks, Kiera!

So I tried out the number of songs performed and while doing so, I thought maybe the number of traders would be a good idea too, so if someone is looking for a "rare" show, or an easy to find show, they'd be easier to spot!

Anyway, I updated the 1994 page:

I'm wondering if it's getting too crowded? I was thinking of removing the "Details" link and having maybe the day or city, state link to the detailed page...I just don't know that it would be intuitive to click there or not...thoughts?

I really like it I like the "detalis" link it's very intuitive so I think you should keep it... And I love the jewelwiki page cause it helps me organize my anglefood correctly cause I'm a little of a organization freak

I'd remove the details link and add links to the venue and/or the number of songs. Also perhaps you could link to the traders' page from the number of traders.

Chris.

Thanks for the ideas again, Chris!

Lara, I kinda like minimalist...I removed the Details link, but have links to the "detailed" page if you click on the venue or number of songs...

http://www.jewelwiki.com/pmwiki.php?...94Performances

Does that seem intuitive enough? Maybe if I add like "Click on the Event/Venue title or number of songs for an expanded setlist" to the top of the page?

Hmm....I think I might have to go back to the simple page with just a details link... I'm afraid on the larger lists, the number of songs and number of traders are too intensive on the server.

Thanks for support everyone!

I've figured out a way to use Excel to make creating the tables a little easier.
