Default Jewel & Ty to attend Louisville bash

From the Courier Journal, Jewel and Ty will attend the Barnstable Brown Charity Bash in Louisville on May 4th in aid of diabetes research.

Quote:
Will the pop-cult world be tilting on its axis next week?

That's when a host of some of the hottest names in celebrity news will descend on Louisville for the annual Barnstable Brown Gala on Derby Eve.

The party theme is "That's Entertainment," and star-gazers will get their fill with a guest lineup that includes Jenny McCarthy, Super Bowl MVPs Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly, actress and international bombshell Raquel Welch and — y'all ready for this? — Kevin Federline.

"The theme is perfect, isn't it?" said Tricia Barnstable Brown, the queen of Derby galas, who will co-host the fab fete May 4 at her Spring Drive home with sister Priscilla Barnstable. Proceeds from the gala benefit diabetes research in honor of Barnstable Brown's husband, David, who died in 2003 from the disease.

"I'm just over the moon with all these big stars coming in and how much money we're going to raise," Barnstable Brown said.

"I'm amazed and I've been doing this for 19 years. I guess you could say we're going to have one heckuva good time."

Next week all eyes surely will be on Louisville native and Hollywood celebrity photographer Larry Birkhead, who's returning to the gala where he met Anna Nicole Smith in 2004.

(Yesterday a judge gave Birkhead the OK to leave the Bahamas with his almost-8-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, so long as he returns with her for the full custody hearing in June.)

The proud papa — who is not bringing the baby to the bash, mind you — will work his camera and snap celeb pics as he's done at Barnstable Brown galas past, though the paparazzi are sure to snap back now that he's a pop-culture phenomenon.

The vibe continues with Kiss frontman Gene Simmons and his lady love, former Playboy Playmate Shannon Tweed, who — after getting his 'n' her face-lifts — will attend the soiree, which will be captured on camera by their A&E "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" crew.

And what ecstatic fans wouldn't want to glimpse Nick Lachey, who's bringing his live-in love, Vanessa Minnillo? (Fan alert: Minnillo announced yesterday that she's leaving her MTV veejay gig.)

Then there's "Saturday Night Live" alum Jimmy Fallon, who will bring the funny to the festivities. And Jewel will ride into the reception with her honey, Rodeo Hall of Famer Ty Murray.
NBC's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" correspondent, Ross "The Intern" Mathews, will attend and report back to Leno from the gala.

Kid Rock will return to the fete after missing out last year because of a scheduling conflict. The "Devil Without a Cause" singer's good pal Uncle Kracker also will attend.

Hip-hop pioneer Darryl "DMC" McDaniels will be in the house. Comedian-actor Eddie Griffin will too.

You've gotta have nothing but love for "The L Word" standout, Cybill Shepherd, who also will attend the Barnstable Brown bash.

Peyton Manning, meanwhile, is bringing his dad, Archie Manning, and brothers, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and eldest sib Cooper Manning. From the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue (where Peyton presented a Colts jersey to President Bush this week) to the white house on Louisville's Spring Drive — now that's a Super shuffle.

Peyton also will be rolling with a posse from the 2007 Super Bowl-winning Indianapolis Colts. The football fellas include teammates Brandon Stokley, Bryan Fletcher, Dallas Clark, Jake Scott, Jeff Saturday, Jim Sorgi, Rocky Boiman, Ryan Diem and Ryan Lilja.

And what's football without a little friendly competition? Tom Brady is bringing several members of his fellow New England Patriots, including Dan Koppen, Larry Izzo, Lonnie Paxton, Matt Anthony, Matt Casell, Mike Vrabel, Tedy Bruschi and Will McDonough.

(Gridiron fans are hoping they'll be tossing foam footballs into the crowd again this year. The boys had best bring extras: Last year, some 500 spectators stood outside the home at 1700 Spring Drive, hoping to glimpse the glitterati.)

The jock contingent doesn't end there though. Barnstable Brown is also bringing in Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer, Olympic medalist ski racer Bode Miller and Olympic gold-medalist speed skater Apolo Ohno.

Ohno will sashay into the shindig with his "Dancing With the Stars" partner, Julianne Hough, as will former *NSYNC er Joey Fatone and his "Dancing" queen, Kym Johnson.

Jason Lewis — Kim Cattrall's hottie beau from "Sex and the City" — will provide even more eye candy.

The gala's pop power also includes Food Network chef-restaurateur Bobby Flay, Dixie Chick Emily Robison and her hubby, Charlie, and actor Jerry O'Connell. Plus Mary Wilson of the Supremes, pop vocalist Taylor Dayne, country crooner Travis Tritt and Michael McDonald.

Lovely, leggy Stacy Keibler will again bring her beau, Geoff Stults, and Miami nightclub owner and former "Fear Factor" contestant Linley Edwards will be there too.

Crowning the evening will be guest Terry Pendry, Royal Stud Groom to another queen — Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
