Help looking for non-LP Jewel music
Heyyy’all!:wave9bm1:
I am very interested in getting Jewel’s bootlegs, promos, and live performances from her Pieces Of You era. I DESPERATELY want MTV Unplugged (from 1997 I think), Jewel Rocks the Rockies (from 1999), DDDelight, and of course Save The Linoleum. Why? I think a great deal of Jewel’s most beautiful recordings show up on non-albums like this. I even have dreams about owning these, I mean literal dreams- that’s how obsessed and in love I am with Jewel’s earlier work! I know these aren’t commercially available, but are they available anywhere used or at online auctions (I check Ebay regularly) or if I have to resort to this…trading posts? I actually saw Save The Linoleum on Ebay a couple of times- if it’s available to buy right away then it’s too darn expensive (like $125-150 or more) and if it’s up for bidding, there’s too much competition! I’m willing to pay a pretty penny for STL, preferably $50 or less, but I’d fork out up to $100…anything more I can’t afford. Better yet, can I find these as MP3s anywhere? I think if people can’t buy these anymore it’s only fair that we can get them available as MP3s. They’re beautiful recordings and shouldn’t remain obscured. In case you couldn't already tell, I'm a little obsessed:getalife[1]: |

I got STL on eBay about 2 years ago for about less than $25 (before postage). Like you, I was constantly getting frustrated with how much they kept selling for, however, I remained patient and finally got my day. I got Bits and Baubles for less than $10! Just keep checking ebay. You'll be surprised.
I think you'd be hard pressed to find a fan around here willing to part with their copies. It usually general record collectors that like you'll find selling them and they're usually out to make the most bucks. Though you may get lucky! I'll keep an eye out for ya and let you know. |

I'd recommend checking eBay regularly for STL. I picked up mine for ~$30. Just don't get stuck in a bidding war. Set a limit of $40 for yourself and if it goes over that, just wait for the next one.
For some Angelfood like Jewel Unplugged that you mentioned, check out the JewelWiki. For MTV Unplugged, click here. There is a list of "Who Has It" at the bottom--feel free to e-mail people and see if they're interested in doing a trade (or since you sound like you're just starting out, out of the kindness of their heart). Don't be shy to e-mail. Once you get started, I'd be happy to help you set up your own wiki page to let people know what angelfood you have. Last edited by JewelWiki; 02-06-2007 at 01:22 PM. |
