Back onto the subject, ive got my date for the first consultation, its 5th august so around that time i wont be online much as part of it is that you cant wear any form of eye correction for upto a week before.

Ok im nervous now :( ..... :lalala:

good luck with the eye surgery, it will be worth it when you dont have to worry about contacts or glasses anymore

Here's my update:

Next week i cannot wear my contact lenses until 6th August, then i go for my consultation. Im gonna be so bored as i cant drive, but it does mean i get a week off work!! :-) so i will only log on a few times, so dont fret!, i will be back.

I might be able to have my eyes corrected on the same day, but usually they have you back a few days later for the LASER!! :(

My eyes will look like :shock: lol

Anyway, keep your bits crossed for me.

Yep I am only a titch. I used to go out with a tall 6foot 5 American. We just looked ridiculous more than anythingreally. Didn't work out anyways.

Will the operation affect you much? I know you said you can't drive so I suppose that goes for the PC as well?

Only a few days to go now, cant wait until im seen' - get it?

Its so annoying having to be driven around everywhere, but only a few days more hopefully. Still, i have a week off work so while the weathers nice im going to sit outside and chill.

hi everyone,

Well the latest is that on saturday i went to the eye clinic. I was told that i was ok for surgery but they could not fit me in that day. I will be going back to the clinic on the 18th August and i will be having the laser thingy.

I was told about the risks etc, but the advantages far outway the disadvantages, for me anyway.

I was quite scared before i went in not really knowing about the procedure. But now im happier knowing that its fairly pain free and the success rate is high, actually about 98%

So, i will be off work for a few days before, so again a little bit quiet. Ive been still checking the messages etc though when i can

The eye surgery went well, i got there about 1.45 filled out some more forms etc, them i was taken through to what looked liked a dentist room. I had to lay on my back with my legs slightly higher than my head, they put some drops in and clipped back my eyelids, then the dr said something about 20 seconds, then there was a green light and a loud clicking sound then a burning smell...lol, hmm i wonder if thats my eye i was thinking. :-) anyway yesterday was really painfull, and i cant look for very long at light as the eyes are still very sensitive, but i can see as if ive got contacts in so im well please. I have to go back on Monday to have the bandages removed. miss ya, dave. x
