Jewel, in late 2002, when asked if she would ever make a pop/dance album, gave the interviewer a quizzical, "you're insane" look, and replied that she would never sell out in such a dispicable, self-deprecating fashion.

But later in the interview she mentioned she was desperate for cold-hard cash and muttered something about pop stars getting all the record sales.

i resent that quote...since that pic was obviously after 0304 was released.... see what's she's wearing and her hair style..... whoops...did i ruin your moment of resentment? ohhh.... the killjoy...a typical michaelsjewel fashion, (telling the truth like it is - to bash those Such jewel fans that are too much into denial for any truth) or just plain truth.... she never sold out, she's always wanted to do a pop album, and even in reviews, they said she obviously wasn't going for record sales as pop isn't mainstream as she released it.... i think it was her THINKING TO A QUESTION SHE HAD NO ANSWER FOR....like....

"you know what, the truth is, then i'd be selling out in the fact that i'd be doing what they want me to do just so i can sell records.... besides, that was written while i was young and stupid - try any of the other albums for more of what i am now - i mean, i recorded an album after POY, but resented releasing it because it just wasn't me anymore, so i waited to release spirit"

and michaelsjewel would like to congratulate jewel for a wise decision as her career would've been over then and there...especially if you would've saw the songs on it!

yah...i agree angel eyes...definitely a "what the f*ck" look.... maybe someone asked her if her new sexy style meant a porn video ? lol.... that's what came to mind that would give that expression

Whoa, don't go on a rampage, Michael. We all know that pic was released before 0304...that file name is just a cover-up from highly intelligent people (like me) figuring out exactly what that look meant.

I guess you still don't understand my kind of off-beat humor...either that or you just can't take a jab at your favorite singer.

the pic was released around the time of 0304 actually....just a bit before....but not much! i mean, she did that whole 0304 transformation before it was even released back @ the beginning of 2003...so that's what i mean...

and yah... maybe some smileys would help your sarcasm a bit david! and yah, i defend my favorite singer with my life...well...not my life.... but i love her :) sorry david if i was cruel..... i was just really mad @ that moment...lol

Probably not, but the weirdest thing to me is that the legs just don't look normal. Still it's better art than any of the stick people I've ever drawn, and I like the face and hair.

That picture looks like her head has been pasted onto the body of a scantly-clad Sim. Yes, her breasts are bigger in real life, I should've noticed that at first glance.
