I am surprised Jewel would play for the World Gold Council. Until recently I never realized how much gold we use in things like jewelry, cell phones and electronic products. With all of that gold circulating around and all of the environmental and social destruction caused by gold mining you would think the focus would be on recycling! I thought I?d forward this link on to people as just a little something to remind folks of how dirty the whole gold mining enterprise is. You can sign a pledge on the site to support their campaign and there also lots of other good links and more info. The focus is mostly on the environment, but a lot of the arguments about the social and economic impacts of mining can also be made. Check it out www.nodirtygold.org
