Chasing Down The Dawn-Audio CD
I just got the Chasing Down The Dawn 2-CD set so I can listen to it in my car. It's pretty cool! I just wanted to share this for those of you who may not have it.
The 2 CD's inside have Jewel's personal drawings on them from inside the book. On the back of the CD case it says the following as written by Jewel herself: "Chasing Down The Dawn was created primarily on the road during the Spirit World Tour. It is a series of short stories and vignettes written in hotel rooms, backstage holding pens, airports, buses, and quiet moments. I wrote some of the stories specifically for the book while others are excerpts from my journal. I think of this book as a collection of still-lifes...random snapshots of the eskimo villages, biker bars, and windblown canyons of my past-and of the endless tour buses, spirited horses, and simple hopes that transport me now. I hope that, much like a mosaic, when placed together, the many small pieces will give you an honest and inclusive view of my life." - Jewel

I have the book but I also have the audio version but it's only on cassette. I've often thought about getting the CD's but I can't see myself listening to them that often. I prefer to read the book from time to time.
But it is a lovely listen and more personal when you hear Jewel tell these stories herself in her own voice. |
