I agree you guys!
Seems like it would about time an artist as prolific as Jewel should have a greatest hits compilation though(I mean if Britney Spears has one). Usually artists have some unreleased or live material on greatest hits albums (I'm guessing to give a reason for obsessives like us to go out and buy it) and Jewel has such a wealth of material not on her albums that it seems a little crazy that Atlantic would choose such a predictable track-listing. |

Jewel deserves a big doublecompilationgreatesthitscd! If "artists" like britney spears can have a bo-album after 2 albums (3 years) or something, why cant jewel have a revelant one with special tracks like unreleased songs or similar after 5/6 albums and 12 years of appearence?

I don't think we should ever again compare Jewel to Britney. I think a person needs a GH when she has had at least 15 singles. Jewel has released about 15 songs to radio. But she only has like 6 hits (WWSYS, YWMFM, FG, Hands, Standing Still, Intuition). Still, think she does have baggage for a GH and well, it will of course come out because it will probably give Atlantic some money, as I would think many people that don't buy Jewel albums would buy her GH. I just hope they release a nice package for the fans.

I think Jewel needs to suck up her concerns and go back to Atlantic so she might have at least one more hit. Then she can wait on a greatest hits CD. Well, if she would make more hits with Atlantic.
I heard rumors that she was going to Pacific records.

I agree in that it would be easy to burn those songs to your own CD-R and have the same compilation, but, not everyone has access to the radio versions of her singles. However, it's true that in some cases, the album version is superior or the radio version and vice-versa, but that's all a matter of opinion. I really like test version 1 though: more tracks on it, and more single mixes that I don't own yet.
Thanks for the info :-) |

I like the track list on version 1 too. Because in my country it's so hard to find all the single versions or radio remixes. Even if there's no new song it's still worth to own one.
But what I'm afriad of is when the grestest hits cd come out, it's gonna be just only the compilation of album versions. That's the worst. Look at the Corrs greatest hits for example. They have a lot of nice songs that have been remix for single. But they don't include those in theirs CD. |
