Question To Sell or Not To sell

Hey everyone, its been a very long time since i been on the forums, been busy with life, working, and building cars. So i have a question and need some help with this. I'm in such a toss up over what to do.... Should i sell my entire Jewel Collection or should i just keep it... Reason i'm thinking of selling is because i need some money to fund a project and i'm really tight on money right now with my bills and all. I have well over 80+ cd's, a bunch of t-shirts, posters, dvd's, book's, signed items, guitar pic's, pictures, magazines etc... I have been collecting her items since back in the day since i first heard her music.... I asked my one friend who makes fun of me for all my Jewel items and he even told me that i should keep them cause i would regret selling them down the since, specially since i been collecting for years.. which his answer suprised me since i figure he would be like yea sell them lol... I have other items i could sell but i dont think i could sell then as quick as i could this stuff... (i have a gibson double cut guitar (same one jewel plays), some hockey equipment, car parts, etc...) so please help me either talk myself into selling or talk me into keeping everything.... i just dunno....

Don't do it, John!

I still check JewelUnplugged.com anticipating an update (though as of late, it seems like you let it expire). I guess that's one way to cut an expense though. In my opinion, I wouldn't sell it; your friend is right in saying you'll regret it later.

Yeah don't sell it. I'd keep on to it and sell the other stuff. My grandma sells stuff on ebay. You'll be suprised what people buy and how much they buy it for. So I would sell the other stuff.

It's really up to you, I mean it's not like you can't rip cd's onto your computer. The way I see it, music is what makes cds worth something, so by all means spread the Jewel Love around!

I'd say if they are of really sentimental value to you. I mean you can always buy copies of albums and stuff online but you just may never get that stuff again. And I'm just one of those people that would always be afraid that something might just happen to wipe my hard drive (that's just me )

Then again, I think this is the second time you've gone through this, so maybe it'll happen eventually anyway? Didn't your girlfriend/wife want you to get rid of a bunch of Jewel stuff? Maybe if you can hold off until the country album comes out, she'll hopefully have a larger following and you can get a bit more for what you're selling.

As tempted as you are, don't do it. Odds are slim to none that you won't regret it. It's a special collection that you've been working on for years and those items probably mean a lot to you. So unless the money is an absolute emergency I'd say NO!

I remember you in the prediciment before and I think I said the same thing then. I don't think you should sell it unless you absolutely have to. You no doubt have a story or memory attached to most things in your collection that you will never get back again. If you are very attached to those senitments, then you'll forever regret it.

If, however; you're like me and not very attached to things like this, then sell it and make use of the money. At the end of the day, aren't they only things?

Well that's the 2 sides to my suggestion. Sorry if it isn't helpful but I thought I'd play devil's advocate .... sort of.

I would keep it!!!! It obviously means quite a bit to you, so I would keep it if I were you. But it's up to you, of course!! Good luck with your decision.

Here's a question you need to ask yourself carefully before making a decision: Have I ever sold something or given something away in the past and then regretted it later? If the answer is yes, then I wouldn't sell. That means you will most likely regret selling your Jewel stuff and then kick yourself for a long time and get a stomach ache over it. You say you need the money? Go look in your garage!!! I bet you have something in there that can be sold - I found an old rickity rackety poker table in mine and sold it for twenty bucks in 15 minutes. Slapped a sign on it, and left it on the sidewalk. So please ask yourself that initial question FIRST. Good luck!!! Tell us your decision in the end

famicom.

And all my games went with it (except for Friday the 13th, which the video store wouldn't buy). I still have my Game Genie for it, but no way to play it.

Luckily there's other ways to play the classics now, but it still would be cool to have an original Nintendo. :P

I still have my original Nintendo and the games to go with it and I still play it from time to time. I still love those Super Mario Bros! Best game I ever had for the Nintendo. I could never get rid of it.

Have you made a decision John??

Take my advice mate...DON'T sell something you'll regret later on down the line! I once flogged my Metallica "Live Sh*t Binge & Purge" box set back in the late 90's, something i just sooooo wished i'd never had done! the sentimental value is the main stay, be-ridden of that is something you'll never live down...don't do it, don't do it, think! is it really worth it!?
