jeesh I always have to specify that MIX CD's is CHEATING? I did use the word "album" and a mix cd isn't an album..

Ok, I've really had to think about this. I wasn't even going to post here, but thought I probably should now!! :-) I'm going for 10 though...

These aren't in any particular order:

1. Very Best of Faith Hill: There You'll Be
2. This Way: Jewel
3. GAIW: Jewel
4. Twice The Speed Of Life: Sugarland
5. Fireflies: Faith Hill
6. Real Fine Place: Sara Evans
7. Greatest Hits: U2
8. Cry: Faith Hill
9. Greatest Hits: Martina McBride
10. Garth Brooks: Boxed Set

OK....11.

11.Dizzy Up The Girl: GooGoo Dolls

HMMMMM.....Only seven, well here goes.

Jewel-Pieces of You
Jewel-GAIW
Lynard Skynard-Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd (1974) (Free Bird!)
Goo Goo Dolls-Iris (arguably one of the best songs ever writte by an artist other than Jewel, becasue you know Jewel writes only the best, but this song "Iris", takes second place.)
Master and Commander Motion Picture SOundtrack
Jimmy Buffett "Don't know the title, but it's his largest selling album of nothing but beach music, come on, we're on an island.)
Garth Brooks-Sevens (Hey, gotta have "Two Pina Coladas whilst on the island).

That about sums it up for me. However, I do like the Ass' idea of kidnapping Jewel, but I think if I did that, it would be 'coercion into coming to the island', not kidnaping, that's too harsh. She'd hate me and wouldn't play(pun on words).

Jones
"The Lonely Angel"

Hey...what a coincidence- I've been listening to Jimmy Buffett and Garth's Sevens all winter...since I've got the winter blues. I made a country beach mix that includes a lot of Jimmy Buffett, Garth Brooks and Kenny Chesney's stuff, who also has a bunch of great island songs. My mix also has some songs by other artists like Blake Shelton's "Some Beach Somewhere" . And I just like you also dig Skynard.

Hey, here's a girl who knows her non-Jewel music.

1933-1945 big band jump, never expected to hear that on this forum. Kudos.

Sorry, but the very best of Fats Waller, only the last half of that is the best, I have the same album, never liked the first few songs too much.

Legend, by Bob marley. I just want to write that again, Legend, by Bob Marley. HEre's true Jamaican reggae music with a twist, Marley knew his stuff in and out, and could sing one song to make you cry, and that next song on the album would have you up and dancing.

Otis Redding, come on, who didn't play repeat "Sittin on the Dock of the Bay" a thousand times when they were a teenager! I know I did. Great, Great musician.

Can I also metnion AL Green, a man whoh every song he sings turns from paper notes to golden harmony, even if only for a moment. Al Green, one of the greats. had all of his allbums growing up, but lost them after my fathehr died, could carry them with me, was too concerned about clthes and sentimental goods at the time.

Yes, Skynard is also good. But, if you like Otis Redding, you should check out Percy Sledge. Ole Percy would sing a song that would melt your heart. Percy was the king of '60's soul, soul dripped off of him.

If you like Otis Redding, don't leave the record store until you get a cheap Percy SLedge album, they aren't much, starting around six bucks, but well worth it. I always say to people who like either soul or oldies or whatever it is, if they've never heard Percy Sledge, they can even talk to me about true soul music.

You're cool...I was surprised that anyone would share my taste in music let alone know any of those people were. Yeah, I like Percy Sledge. But Spirits of Rhythm aren't big-band, they're jazz though. They're a combo of jazz, country, blues and folk- they're TOPS and there's no one else like them...IMO.

2) Opeth - Still Life
3) Enslaved - Frost ultimate homage to the Nordland
4) Aura Noir - Black Thrash Attack (has to be the ultimate metallers album)
5) Jewel - Peices Of You all familiar with this one eh...and no i did'nt just throw that one in
6) Black Sabbath - Paranoid
7) Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast should need no introduction to any a like minded rock/metal fan

If you could have 3 more...what would they be? As a fellow metal lover...I'm intrigued.

ok since this topic is going into metal, I am curious have you ever listened to Blind Guardian? I am just now starting to get into metal and I am really loving Blind Guardian right now, even though I guess "power metal" is supposed to be "not real metal" or something according to some people.

And Marc I borrowed this Opeth cd called "Morningrise" from my friend and I really like it, I love how they go from one extreme to the other. You know like heavy heavy straight into acoustic, it's awesome.
