Hi everyone,
Well, I decided to auction off one of my pianos for my charity, Project Clean Water. Yamaha gave this to me for participating in YCAA's "A Tribute to Elton John" in Anaheim, California in 2003. All of the artists sang Elton John songs, it was an amazing event! I sang 'Your Song,' and Ray Charles sang "Sorry is the Hardest Word" - there were so many amazing artists on the bill that night: John Mayer, Diana Krall, Michael McDonald, Randy Newman, and Norah Jones. I got to hang out with Ray that night and take a picture with him. It was unbelievable!

Elton has always been such a class act, an amazing artist who is truly supportive of other artists, something that is rare. Anyway, I don't have room for it in my Texas house, and I thought instead of locking it up in storage I would donate it to charity. It's been sitting in my LA home these past few years, and I wrote a couple songs on it ["Merry Christmas Baby" and "Last Standing Vagabond"] as I overlooked the LA skyline. I will definitely miss it, but will be glad that it will go on to make music for other people, and also raise money to help get clean and safe drinking water to folks who so badly need it.
