Thanks for posting the links !!! =). Your right Kiera, i also think it wasnt the right one for the show (or to promote herself or her album) but its also a very beuatiful song, and jewel more cares about the music itself instead off "pushing up the albumsales" i think

I don't think it was too bad... She rearranged it I think, I might be wrong, but it definitely sounded country enough. That's a hard song to chew though.

I think it was a great choice. I think this performance was very honest and it definatly put Jewel in the country scene. Jewel really needed to show that she is a country girl and she CAN pull country music off and that she's doing it because she wants to and not because of money or fame. If she had gone all flashy and poppy, her entrance in Nashville could have been jeopardized. It was a great moment IMO and I'm sure true country fans really enjoyed the performance.

Check out this thread from the Nashville Star message board. The first page is mostly filled with people who didn't like the song. After that though there are quite a few people that loved it and had nice things to say. Some even went out to buy GAIW after the performance.

i think it was pretty good
definatly trying to get the country fans to like her...i just wonder what they thought about the yodeling...
none of the other special performances on there were like her...
shes unique and i dont know how country fans well go for that..

Yeah I checked that out yesterday. Some were really nasty with their comments but what bothered me more were those that said they didn't like it but couldn't give a reason why. That's just ignorant.

Yeah, you don't always need a reason to dislike something, I always hated Luigi in Super Mario, no apparent reason though, and he always got the job done just as well. Maybe it's just the way he runs and jumps.

I liked the performance and she is looking really great these days. I would have loved to hear "No More Heartaches." She really belts it out on that one. I'm interested to hear what this country album will sound like.

Last Thursday, Jewel was getting ready to sing a song. She said it was for her dad and then the TV came up with a message that said no need to call we know the picture is out and we are working to correct it. The channel came right back on after the song. I live about 40 miles from Nashville. Is that show taped or is it live? I would like to go.

Well everything i said before got proven wrong because i read the like 4 or 5 threads they have on usa forums dedicated to jewel and only read like 4 or 5 bad comments about her. i read alot saying they went and bought her album and that they blew her away and that the wreckers were horrible compared to Jewel! it was awesome to read those things!
