Default Jewel to perform on Jan 4!

I received this e-mail from the JewelJK team, but unfortunately, I can't be there in DC because I have this thing called a wife and baby, and they'd kill me if I flew out there to see Jewel...

BUT, if you find out when her show will air (I assume it's not Jan 4), PLEASE let me know! I will record the show on my XM radio.

Quote:
XM Satellite Radio, America's no. 1 satellite radio service (featuring 68 commercial free music channels), is assembling a small audience of friends and fans of JEWEL for a taping session with the artist on the early afternoon of January 4, 2008 at XM's Washington, DC broadcast studios.

The seating for this special program is extremely limited and approximately 30 people will be chosen on a "first-come, first-served" basis determined by when their email is received at XM. If you are interested and are 100% confident that you can be in Washington, DC on the early afternoon of January 4, 2008, please send an email complete with your full name and contact information to live@xmradio.com. Do not reply to this email.

Make sure to include "JEWEL" in the subject line of your message to live@xmradio.com or your email will not be considered.

If you wish to come with a guest - one other person only - please include that person's name and contact information (email and cell phone nos. are important in case there is a change in schedule) as well. If you are selected to attend, you will receive an email with the exact time and further instructions. Only people who have received this email will be put on the guest list and will be able to attend.

Thank you.

I entered my information. On the off chance that I could go. I would love to go to this. So I did go ahead and enter my information. Not sure if I will get chosen or if theyreached the 30. If not then I could see myself going to this event. We shall see what happens

Thanks Webbed for sharing this. I didn't get online in the last couple of days as Seryn is colicky and neither of us has been getting any sleep. Poor thing is crying for hours on end.

Anyway, needless to say, I am glad someone posted this! Thanks so much. Have some rep!

Sadly I didn't get to go. I never got the invite from Xm back in the email.
Would of been awesome to be there. She needs to tour and hit back in pennsylvania. Like Wilkes-Barre or in Jim Thorpe at Penn's Peak that would be more of an ideal spot for her. That's where i seen "The wreckers" It's a nice small little place

Colic.... yes, our baby had that. It takes a few months to get out of that cycle. Interestingly, colic is not recognized as a "condition" in many countries... it's simply considered a normal part of being a baby. Either way, it's what drives many parents crazy. Believe me, I've had my share of moments at 3am when I was in a state between dreaming, waking, and hallucinating.

I understood right then why some people shake their babies.... which of course is a bad, bad idea.

You could buy some herbal medicines in stores for colic, and my wife swears by that. I think we had the regular crying anyway.

There are a couple of things you can do: drive around in a car always works, except that he'll wake up when the drive is over and you take him out of the car; you can actually get the same effect by swinging the car seat itself. It's great shoulder exercise. I've also done squats with her, danced with her, and boy did I watch a lot of late night TV....

I feel for ya, but the good news is that it will get better by around her third or fourth month. It will be replaced by teething pains, but that's another story. At least you'll get more sleep.

Good luck.

So... when is XM going to air the show?????

I don't think anyone from the forum got picked so we'll have to wait for an announcement on when it will air.

Subject: [EDA] Jewel XM taping

I had the chance to see Jewel tape a show at XM on friday - it was wonderful! She was only about 8ft away - better than first row at a show! There were about 30 of us in the studio, and she played some songs and answered questions from the host and the audience. The setlist was very impromptu, and included:

Thump Thump (from new CD)
You Were Meant For Me (prefaced by the marijuana story)
Chime Bells (abbreviated version)
The Cold Song
Rosie and Mick
Somewhere Over the Rainbow
A Stronger Woman (new CD)
Who Will Save Your Soul

That might not be the exact order - if anyone reading this also attended the session, feel free to correct me and also add your own details. I was too enthralled by the whole experience to remember everything.

The host said he had heard the new CD and loved it, so it's coming soon.

Times like these I wish I had a jet that I can use to fly to DC at a moment's notice and still come back before dinner!
