Public insurance vs private insurance... it's an ongoing debate. Those of us in the US have a wide range of private choices, primarily by our employers. Those who are lucky enough to be part of a generous company, or those who are high enough in the ranks receive better plans. There is a lot of disparity.
I for one think that for the US to have passed the recent law regarding insurance was overdue. There is much work ahead to work out the small details, but in the end, I hope that everyone will eventually have adequate, affordable coverage.
But the next big step is to see if there is a way to link all the hospitals together so that patient information can be shared timely and with ease. Now THAT is a big challenge.
